What resides in the expression of a face or in the posture of a human body? For me, these gestures hold traces of unspoken stories, meanings that linger beneath the surface. I am drawn to scenes that feel charged with something. Through painting, I find connection to the world around me, a way of both engaging and processing.

I was born in 1980 in Helsingborg and now live and work on the island of Öland, off the southeast coast of Sweden. I have been practicing classical drawing and painting since childhood. But my professional debut as a painter came in the aftermath of the pandemic. During the lockdown, I finally found the uninterrupted studio time I needed to grow as an artist and refine my skills.

My work focuses on figurative motifs — fragments of narratives with a melancholic undertone. Instead of depicting political themes or social commentary, I look inward, seeking to capture a timeless emotional state that resonates on a universal level.
